Panniers are essentially large bags attached to either (or both) sides of a bike, enabling you to carry more when cycling. A special rack is required in order to fit these bags, which in turn traditionally require eyelets on your frame, although in recent years several manufacturers have produced versions to fit bikes without these fixings. Oh, and if you've ever wondered, the word Pannier derives from the French word "panier", which in turn came from the Latin "panarium" or "bread basket". If you're after a regular saddlepack or backpack, then I have sections for those.

The advantages of using a pannier system over a backpack are that A) it saves energy, due to the bike carrying the weight rather than you, and B) The weight is situated lower down, thus maintaining a low centre of gravity. The majority of panniers are waterproof to protect your belongings, and most feature a quick release system to be easily removed from the bike.

Below are my selection of handpicked pannier deals, all of which offer substantial savings from RRP.
