Track bikes - as the name suggest - are a specific and specialised form of bicycle, designed to be ridden in the velodrome. Fancy yourself as the next Hoy, Kenny, Pendleton or Wiggins? Well the equipment you'll need can be found below. Track bikes are incredibly stiff and fast at riding in a straight line, complete with a fixed gear system and no brakes - so not really suitable for riding on the road, but perfect for the smooth boards of the velodrome. Admittedly there aren't a huge amount of track bikes on the market, when compared to Road or MTBs, as it is a not quite as popular discipline. However with the success of British Cycling at recent Olympics and World Championships, many cyclists have been encouraged to participate in this sport.
