With a flat handlebar and a more upright geometry than a traditional road bike, the Boardman HYB 8.9E Mens Hybrid Electric Bike is suited to leisure riding and commuting, offering a comfortable position and a good view of the road. This fast and practical hybrid style e-bike uses the sophisticated, German engineered Fazua Evation drive system, offering smooth and powerful electric assistance as you pedal, helping you up any incline.
Its powerful Tektro hydraulic disc brakes take care of stopping duties, and the durable yet grippy tyres feature added puncture protection, to keep you rolling across roads, cycle paths, and trails. Weighing in at just 4.6kg for the whole system, the Fazua Evation system keeps the Boardman HYB 8.9E Mens Hybrid Electric Bike lightweight and practical to live with. The battery and motor can also be removed and replaced with a lightweight cover (sold separately), meaning you can ride your e-bike just like a normal bike with barely any weight penalty, and no extra drivetrain resistance if you decide you don't need any assistance.

By using the FAZUA app which is compatible with all Boardman eBikes, you can get access to all of the below that will assist your journey and will help you learn more about your training and your bike. Battery: The integrated 250Wh battery is removable, which makes for easy charging without needing a plug where you store your bike.
Long rides are handled easily thanks to a range of up to 56 miles* on the 'Breeze Mode' setting. To support the sophisticated motor and battery system, the HYB comes with a smart control system (BMS) that protects the battery from overheating, short circuiting or overcharging.

Sensor: Using a sophisticated combination of Torque, Speed, and Cadence sensors, the Fazua system closely monitors your pedalling and feeds in power smoothly when you need it. It stops instantly when you stop pedalling - keeping you always in complete control. There are 3 levels of assistance to choose from using the intuitive handlebar remote control, which also shows battery charge levels.
