The E-ST 100 Women's Electric Bike from Rockrider is the female version of the entry level men's E-ST 100 E-MTB.
Essentially this means that this electric mountain bike has fundamentally the same components as the male version, but with a few subtle changes.
The paint job is a beautiful white rather than the darker blue of the male. The reach is shortened for the female form via the use of a shorter length stem.
Finally the saddle is replaced with a female friendly model in the ladies specific Rockrider Ergofit Evo saddle. This should result in a more comfortable ride for a female rider.
If you're looking for an entry level e-MTB for a female rider, then this is one of the most competitive builds you'll find.
A 6061 alloy frame with hydroformed tubes, a Suntour XCR fork, an 8 speed Microshift groupset and Tektro mechanical disc brakes. The fork is adjustable by rider weight, optimising it's performance for it's user. A Samsung SDI battery, guaranteed for 500 charges, powers a 250W motor with 42nm Torque.

IS MOUNTAIN BIKING WITH AN ELECTRIC BIKE A SPORT?: You have to pedal to go forward!. The electrical assistance supplements your pedalling to help you overcome obstacles. You can enjoy your mountain bike rides for longer, and even out the abilities within a group.
Some women even find that the electric mountain bike is what gets them back in the saddle!. The rear motor, with its cadence sensor, stops the electrical assistance when you stop pedalling. The walking mode offsets the mountain bike's weight when you need to walk your bike.
AN ELECTRIC MOUNTAIN BIKE FOR WOMEN: Our teams performed a postural study on a mountain bike to ensure that women are comfy in the saddle: The "women comfort" saddle on the Women's E.ST 100 is ergonomic: hollowed in the centre to prevent chafing. The 60 mm stem is shorter, as women's torsos are shorter. This prevents an overly horizontal position which may cause back or neck pain.
The position can be raised by placing an adapter under the stem. The fork can be adjusted to your weight. The 620 mm handlebar is narrower.
WHAT SIZE MOUNTAIN BIKE TO CHOOSE?: Several sizes available: S: between 1.50m and 1.64m.
M: between 1.65m and 1.74m.
L: between 1.75m and 1.84m.
If you are on the limit between 2 sizes: Choose the smaller size for easier steering (easier to handle), comfort (straighter back) and an easier step-through.
A FRAME FOR STURDINESS AND FUN: The frame of the Rockrider E-ST100 women's bike has been made from 6061 aluminium with hydroformed tubes. Why? The battery sits snugly on the frame to improve the robustness of this electric mountain bike.
The forged aluminium parts make it compatible with both 2.2" tyres and 27.5" wheels while still keeping the bike easy to handle. We've kept the frame geometry low to make sure that the bike stays comfortable to ride.
A MOTOR WITH 42NM TORQUE TO CLIMB ANY HILL!: The rear wheel motor is specially designed for mountain biking: torque of 42 Nm/380 Wh to help you get past obstacles.
A 150 x 12 mm wheel axle to deal with rugged terrain and sealed bearings to withstand the weather, which can often be tough when mountain biking. What if you get a puncture? An 8mm Allen key is all you need to unscrew the wheel nuts. This tool is available in our 900 multi-purpose tool/bike multi-tool.
A BATTERY WITH LG CELLS: Our battery is equipped with LG, LGC-MG1 cells, renowned for their high level of reliability and safety. It can be recharged in 6 hours.
A battery that's easy to lock: Our Rockrider mountain bike team has designed a battery that locks in place with a simple lever.
Child's play!. This locking system prevents any vibrations to the battery when riding on rough terrain. There is also a lock in case you want to stop your battery getting stolen, such as when parking your bike on the street.
CADENCE SENSOR: The cadence sensor on the E.ST 100 women's bike tailors the electrical assistance to your pedalling. The faster the cadence, the more electrical assistance you get. To slow down, reduce your cadence.
When you stop pedalling, the bike returns to acting like a normal bike.
A simple, ergonomic control screen: A discreet LCD control screen.
The screen is right next to your left grip so you don't have to let go of the handlebar to choose from the 3 assistance modes available: (Deactivated), Economy, Standard, and Boost.

VERY PRACTICAL PEDESTRIAN MODE!: When you want to push your bike, activate the pedestrian mode to trigger a low level of electrical assistance that compensates for the bike's weight. This allows you to easily push your bike without it being too heavy.

B'Twin Bikes
B'Twin are a popular choice of bike in the UK, partly due to their widespread distribution by Decathlon, and partly due to the value they offer. Their bikes are divided into several slightly overlapping ranges, with Triban best known for road and gravel bikes, and Rockrider gaining a reputation for high performing MTBs to suit every budget. Elops largely consist of a range of city bikes, whereas Riverside focus on hybrids. All in all, B'Twin bikes are well worth checking out given the size of their ranges; there's a model to suit most budgets.
Rockrider Mountain Bikes
Rockrider are Decathlon's off-road offerings, comprising of a series of kids bikes and adult hardtails, full suspension steeds and even a handful of high end E-MTBs.
This brand was launched in 2018, when Decathlon decided to split their B'Twin bikes into different genres. In terms of prices, there's something for everyone, with adult's MTBs starting at just over £200 and rising up to high end lightweight race bikes at nearly the £4000 mark.
If you want to ride off-road, and would prefer to buy from Decathlon, then the Rockrider mountain bike range is for you.
