For greater comfort, the women on our mountain bike team recommend replacing the saddle with the Women's 500 Sport saddle, which is adapted to women's bodies.

CHOOSING YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE SIZE: Comes in several sizes: S: between 1.50 m and 1.64 m.

M: between 1.65 m and 1.74 m.

L: between 1.75m and 1.84 m.

XL: between 1.85 m and 1.95 m. If your height is on the cusp of the 2 sizes, we recommend the bike that matches your height exactly.

Frame: The stiff, lightweight ROCKRIDER XC frame has optimised geometry for physical performance. It has been designed with shorter bases to leave space for wide tyres. Made of 6061 and 6013 variable thickness aluminium.

Lifetime warranty on the Switch And Ride frame, single chainwheel only. 148mm x 12mm rear axle. "Press fit 92" bottom bracket.

31.6 mm diameter saddle tube. Compatible with double bottle cage (except in size S).

FRONT SUSPENSION: Make obstacles disappear. ROCKSHOX REBA RL front suspension with 100mm of travel. Direct locking front suspension (in open or closed position) on the handlebar using the COMBO LOCK 2 handle.

Suspension compatible with 27.5" and 27.5" PLUS wheels.

REAR SUSPENSION: NONE: This mountain bike has no rear suspension.

Drivetrain: Stay focused on your effort with this single chainwheel and SRAM Eagle technology.

SRAM EAGLE GX drive train, 1x12 single chainwheel, for lighter weight, more precision, faster gear changing, and greater durability. Easily replaceable 34 tooth chainwheel (limited to 36 teeth).

SRAM PG1230 cassette with 12 cogs: 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 25, 28, 32, 36, 42, 50 teeth.

The 50-tooth sprocket guarantees good gear reduction to help you climb the steepest sections.

HANDLEBAR / STEM / STEERING / GRIPS: Keep stable and find your attack position. The Rockrider Comp Flat handlebar is 720 mm wide for more stability.

B'Twin Comp stem, resized for each frame size (60 mm in size S, 70 mm in size M, 80 mm in size L, and 90 mm in size XL). Semi-integrated headset with sealed bearings. Lightweight, "lock on" style ROCKRIDER 900 grips screw onto the handlebars.

SADDLE / SEAT POST: Enjoy greater comfort when pedalling. The ROCKRIDER XC / AM saddle weighs 265 g. Now fitted with reinforcements and an Ergofit system for greater comfort.

BRAKES: The choice of double hydraulic disc brakes for incisive braking. Exclusive SRAM Level T hydraulic disc brakes with a harmonious collar at the handlebar. 180 mm front disc, 160 mm rear disc.

WHEELS: 29" SWITCH & RIDE wheels: choose speed and inertia!. Sun Ringle Duroc 30 SRC Tubeless Ready wheels, with Boost axles, 15 mm at the front and 12 mm at the rear.

Inner rim width: 30 mm.

Sealed bearings. Equipped with a watertight rim strip that is Tubeless Ready compatible.

To switch to Tubeless Ready: add a Tubeless valve, preventative liquid, and replace the original tyre with the same model in Tubeless Ready (available in Decathlon stores).

TYRES: Grip and move over all types of terrain. 29 x 2.10 Hutchinson TORO 2 tyres.

Versatile tyre designed for rides on all types of terrain: smooth, rocky, dry, muddy.

Special studs to optimise steering, and sufficiently well spaced out so that they don't get clogged with mud when riding on muddy ground. High side lugs provide good grip in turns.

PEDALS: The bike is supplied with B'Twin Flat Pro platform pedals.

However, for better pedalling performance, we recommend replacing them with platform clipless pedals (not included).

EASILY TRANSPORT AND STORE YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE: The front and rear wheels attach and remove in 1 motion: you just need a hex key (size 6). The rear derailleur has a screed that locks and unlocks easily to easily attach or remove the rear wheel.

WEIGHT: 11.3 kg in size S, without pedals. 11.5 kg in size M, without pedals. 11.6 kg in size L, without pedals.

11.8 kg in size XL, without pedals. Weight can vary based on the tolerance of the components. The bike is supplied with B'Twin Flat Pro platform pedals.

The complete bike (MTB + fully equipped rider) should not exceed 120kg.

B'Twin Bikes

B'Twin are a popular choice of bike in the UK, partly due to their widespread distribution by Decathlon, and partly due to the value they offer. Their bikes are divided into several slightly overlapping ranges, with Triban best known for road and gravel bikes, and Rockrider gaining a reputation for high performing MTBs to suit every budget. Elops largely consist of a range of city bikes, whereas Riverside focus on hybrids. All in all, B'Twin bikes are well worth checking out given the size of their ranges; there's a model to suit most budgets.

Rockrider Mountain Bikes

Rockrider are Decathlon's off-road offerings, comprising of a series of kids bikes and adult hardtails, full suspension steeds and even a handful of high end E-MTBs.

This brand was launched in 2018, when Decathlon decided to split their B'Twin bikes into different genres. In terms of prices, there's something for everyone, with adult's MTBs starting at just over £200 and rising up to high end lightweight race bikes at nearly the £4000 mark.

If you want to ride off-road, and would prefer to buy from Decathlon, then the Rockrider mountain bike range is for you.
